Marketing is like choosing a firearm. You can use a shotgun, which covers a wider area, or a rifle, which packs more of a punch because the impact is concentrated. If we were in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, I’d choose a rifle every time because you want to be able to stop those undead suckers with one shot. Of course, you could also opt for pistols like Milla Jovovich in the Resident Evil movies, but that’s beside the point.
Because I feel it’s important to appeal to the largest audience, I’ll be switching Little Demons over to KDP Select a little later. The reason behind it is simple. While the free downloads at Smashwords have increased with Read an eBook Week, the numbers still don’t compare to the readers that have been reached with the free promotions on Amazon for Dead Man Walking, and sales on Barnes & Noble are nonexistent. With that in mind, offering Little Demons exclusively on Amazon seems to make the most sense.
However, I still believe in the message being delivered by Read an eBook Week so Little Demons will be free on Amazon tomorrow (Thursday, March 8) and Friday (March 9). The zombies in prison want to get in on the action too, so Dead Man Walking will be available for free on Saturday (March 10).
There’s no reason to worry though if you don’t have a Kindle because Amazon offers a variety of free apps that still make the titles available for you. Personally, I myself don’t own a Kindle at this time and I can say with no doubts that the Kindle apps don’t take anything away from the reading experience.
I apologize for any inconvenience caused by my eBooks not being available for your preferred format and I hope you’ll join me on Amazon.
